How this website counts visits and enquiries

Brindlemoor Plumbing measures how this website is used, so we can tell what is working. The measurement runs through this website's own address, and the records are kept in our account with our website provider, Monarch Systems.

What is counted: a visit (each time you open this website in a new browser tab), each page you view, each time you tap a phone, text or email link, and each enquiry you send through the contact form. A tap on a link is counted as a click; we do not know whether a call was made or answered.

What is recorded with each of these: the page (its path on this website, without any search terms), the name of the website you came from, if any, and any campaign tags in the link you used (for example utm_source). We use these to see where visits and enquiries come from and which page they started on.

What this measurement does not record: your IP address, your browser or device details, or the full address of the page you came from.

To connect the pages of one visit, and an enquiry you send us to the visit it came from, the script keeps a random code in your browser's session storage for that tab. It is not a cookie, and your browser clears it when you close the tab. This measurement does not set cookies.

If your browser sends a supported Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, visit, page-view and tap measurement does not run: none of these is counted and no visit code is created. An enquiry you send through the contact form is still received, with the page it was sent from, but without the website you came from, campaign tags or a visit code.

Records of visits, page views and taps are deleted after about 13 months, by a weekly clean-up. Enquiries are not part of that clean-up: an enquiry you send through the contact form, with the details you typed (your name, phone number, email address and message) and where it came from, is kept in our account and emailed to us.
